Capture The Flag!
Two teams with 1 or more flag(s). It would be like Unholy Temple but as an arena to itself but a map(s) the size of Fort Aspenwood. If we made it 4+ teams it could be like Chinese Checkers. It's not so much about Capture The Flag but more pvp arenas.

I'd say that it randomly gives you particular builds. A team of eight versus eight.
Every team player would have 5 skills, and every team of eight would consist of..
5 Runners/Damage Dealers
1 Snare (vital)
2 Healers
For example, the Runners/Damage Dealers are simply to kill the opposing team while having a few running skills. The Snare will simply slow down targets at the cost of sacrificial prices (such as you and the target and adjacent to the target are slowed for 25%) and Healers would of course just heal.

Hey qe have the flags and a plenty of maps, why not using them for something else?
We can always try as a festival event, and if it works, make it a full fledged PvP mode.

What festival would this be? The celebration of <insert something that has anything to do with running flags apart from CTF itself here>.

I still wouldn't mind it for gw2 though.

There already is something very close to CTF in GW1: Unholy Temples HA map.
There was also another HA map, Sacred Temples, but is now removed. I'd love to see it back, it just needs fixing some glitches.
But there was something even more fun - The Crag - a 6v6 Capture The Relic only random area, removed long long ago. THIS would be something I'd really love to see back, while it's not worthy of a permanent inclusion - it could be fantastic additon for a week or even a weekend, and to appear every now and then, with increased rewards to bring people in.
I'm all for more PvP modes, even if they reused existing maps.

As long as its not like WSG in WoW, If only 1 flag can be picked up total then thats ok, ( as in you have t okill the person hold to tflag for the flags to respawn at both bases, if a flag is picked up the other one cannot be picked up)..as other wise its boring as hell, takes to olong and is jsut annoying, been in a matchbefore fro an hour, seen a firend in one for 2 hours-.-

only if there are at least 7 or more red flags and 7 or more blue flags spread out starting near the frontline that had to be captured. and only if the flag can become your weapon. meaning that both physicals and casters weapon skin simply became replaced with the flag skin allowing their weapon and casting ability to still function like normal.

This. Snowball is due for a few fixes for balance, but after that, it's pretty much CTF.
Unless you're insisting it be that you capture the flags from the enemy's base. Maybe they'll throw that into GvG soon for massive lulz.

Same reply as the 6man FFA thread
only if the battleground/CTF PvP area
got its own special skills and/or armor or/and weapons
and have wide range for example
chose from many different bonuses to make it more CTF Frenzy/rush
like have special runes
+5% speed bonus(flag carriers)
+5% dmg/take 2% more dmg (Super Fast Dmg Warriors to kill flag carriers)
+2% Armor
+5% Armor/2% Slower
All stackable and perhaps have mods like that for weapons
to make it more variable
u could b normal balance out the runes
or u could go specialise like full speed runes for flag carryers(obviusly have to have skills to slow them down)
and have Rage Warriors with perma attack speed buff but also perma weaker to dmg for quick dmg outbursts
and so on

Definitely something worth looking into for gw2. Some random idiot in some town awhile back was claiming that he knew that the charrs' racial ability would make it stronger when in teams of other charr, and that this would be imcorporated into castle like raids. While I personally thought the guy was full of *beep* it sounded cool.
A kind of Human V Char capture the flag/siege the castle would fit great, and all the other races could join either side.
On a side note: This is the kind of PvP that guildwars lacks. I remember having so much fun with Capture the Flag in Nox (it was an old, largely unheard of game from westwood).
